Maksym Mazur

Instytut Avtomatyky is an artist-led initiative group and space that operates as an experimental creative laboratory. Avoiding mimetic modes of expression within the field of contemporary art, it focuses on the notions of experience, the use of non-traditional materials, interaction with space, and found objects (readymades).

Instytut Avtomatyky was founded on July 20, 2020, by artists Maksym Mazur and Andrii Pidlisnyi, with the aim of supporting the development of a local creative community that spontaneously formed within the building of the Kyiv Institute of Automation at 22 Nahірna Street.

Among the group’s priorities are the creation of artistic events, exhibition projects, and the development of international collaboration between artists based on shared artistic values.

Instytut Avtomatyky operates outside a single fixed exhibition space and applies a method of collective curatorial practice involving the participants of each project.
