Maksym Mazur

I began this series in 2022. The objects are based on books, including those that have been deaccessioned or discarded as outdated and functionally obsolete. I combine books with various fragments and debris, including those resulting from the war.

In these works, the book loses its original function and, for me, becomes a material carrier of memory, while the fragments operate as traces of disrupted everyday life. The objects are constructed as if they were accidentally discovered artefacts from the future — testimonies to the time in which we live and to its fragmented, fragile reality.
