LAB 207. Open studio

The Lab 207. Open studio - educational project is based on the transmission of practical experience in artistic practice, self-organization, and the creation of exhibitions in non-fixed spaces. Education is understood not as a formal course, but as a process of collaborative work within the studio, where knowledge is transferred through participation in real artistic and exhibition practices.

The project includes lectures, workshops, and open discussions focused on working with space and materials, curatorial decision-making, documentation, and the archiving of artistic processes. The educational program is aimed at artists, students, and interested participants, and develops skills for independent artistic activity under conditions of limited resources and fragile infrastructure.

In October 2025, an open call was announced for young artists under the age of 25. Following the selection process, the following participants were invited to join the project: Asya Yakovlieva (Dnipro), Ivan Zghurskyi (Odesa), Kateryna Ivanenko (Kyiv), Illia Miroshnyk (Kyiv), and Oleksandra Kolisnyk (Kyiv).

A professional development programme was organised for the participants, including a series of meetings, lectures, workshops, and open studio sessions. Among these were a lecture by Nataliia Lisova on Ukrainian land art and a mosaic workshop led by Andrii Dudchenko.

German artists were also involved in the programme: Paul Maciejewski conducted a portrait workshop; Eva Neidlinger presented her new film and shared insights into her cinematic practice; and Markus Henschler delivered a lecture on art education in Germany.

The participants are currently developing their own works for a collective exhibition focused on the local context, which will be curated by Maksym Mazur.
