Footnote is a marginal note to the main narrative, yet at the same time an autonomous gesture that questions the very hierarchy of the “primary” and the “secondary.” It is a space beneath the text in which something no less significant than the body of the story is recorded—a story that continues and transforms in real time.

The exhibition project of the Instytut Avtomatyky group is the result of a process of self-organization, demonstrating the potential of horizontal models of interaction within the artistic environment. The participants form a polyphonic composition in which the periphery functions as an autonomous space of expression, capable of generating new meanings at the boundary between the individual and the collective.

These works operate as footnotes to a shared history—fragments that do not claim finality, yet do not require legitimation from the “main text.” They point to an ongoing process of the formation of identity and artistic language.
